University Village Apartments

Recycling uneconomic industrial buildings to new residential structures has become a vital alternative in the rejuvenation of depressed inner-city real estate. As part of a major revitalization project adjoining the eastern flank of University of Illinois/Chicago Circle Campus, twin exposed concrete exterior industrial structures were given a new use and a new look.

Central participated in the exterior refurbishing and enhancement program, providing consultation to the developer in the pre-construction planning and design stage and then implementing the architect’s specifications. Central’s early participation in the engineering of façade alterations and repairs enabled major cost savings from the original budgets.
